on the wooded & crystal clear Big Springs Creek, 3 miles N of Orchard,
Nebraska. Surrounded by rolling hills, the resort offers good
fishing in 5 spring-fed ponds, paddle boats, hiking, and local
attractions - all with the relaxed pace of country living.

80+ acre resort also offers plenty of room for you to roam.
An abundance of wildlife exists in the area, and there is a good chance
of seeing deer, beaver, muskrats, woodchucks, coyotes, and a large
variety of birds, including ducks, geese, and our resident swan. |
| We
are normally open from April to October, however hunters are welcome
during the fall and winter months. Make your reservation now! Facilities
consist of 3 cottages and a lodge, big enough to accommodate family
reunions and large gatherings - great for scouting weekends, softball
teams, or for the company meeting/weekend getaway. All accommodations
have the conveniences of a modern home - running water (hot &
cold), electricity, air conditioning and electric heat. There's no
"roughing it" here. |
| Privacy
comes standard with approximately 200 yards between the cottages;
only the parties renting the cottages or lodges are allowed to fish
on the ponds. |
| If
fishing doesn't interest you, there are other things to do in the
area. Local attractions include Ashfall
Fossil Beds State Historical Park - an active dinosaur fossil
dig, the Northeast Nebraska Zoo is only 9 miles from the resort in
nearby Royal, Nebraska, golfing is available at one of Nebraska's
finest
9-hole courses, only 10 miles from the resort. Orchard also offers
a swimming pool, grocery store, and a restaurant. Tour a 1948 country
schoolhouse museum in Orchard, or a river flour mill, built in 1873,
located 25 miles southeast of the resort. Stargazing is also very
favorable, due to the absence of light pollution from major cities.
Excellent opportunities for photographers and bird watchers abound
as well. |
